06
Maintenance & Care
Clean glazed Zellige with a soft cloth or sponge and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Remove soap deposits and spills promptly and avoid abrasive pads that could scratch the glaze.
Confirm whether unglazed surfaces, cut edges or grout require sealing. Avoid harsh acidic cleaners and follow the tile supplier’s care instructions for the selected finish.
07
Installation Considerations
- Mix tiles from several boxes before installation.
- Accept variation in colour, thickness, edges and surface.
- Use an installer experienced with handmade tiles.
- Confirm the adhesive and grout suit the application.
- Review sealing requirements before grouting.
08
Sustainability
Zellige is traditionally produced from natural clay using skilled manual processes. Its environmental impact depends on firing energy, glazing and transportation. Prioritise responsible workshops, durable installations and efficient layouts that minimise cutting and waste.
