A good sourcing library is never finished. Products disappear. New collections launch. Projects require completely different price points, materials and personalities. And sometimes the best thing you can find isn’t another version of the product you already know, it’s an entirely different maker. This isn’t a ranking, and it certainly isn’t an exhaustive list. Consider it a starting point for your next sourcing session.
ITALY
1. Cassina
One of the defining names in Italian furniture, particularly useful when a project calls for recognised modernist pieces alongside contemporary collections.
2. B&B Italia
A strong reference for refined contemporary upholstery, seating systems and furniture with a distinctly architectural quality.
3. Molteni&C
Particularly relevant for sophisticated residential projects and designers looking across furniture, storage and integrated living systems.
4. Minotti
A familiar name in high-end residential interiors, especially for polished contemporary furniture and extensive coordinated collections.
5. Tacchini
A good one to watch when a project needs something slightly softer, more sculptural or characterful than conventional contemporary furniture.
6. cc-tapis
Known for rugs that often feel closer to pieces of design than background accessories. Particularly useful for adding colour, texture or an unexpected graphic element.
7. Flos
An essential lighting reference ranging from iconic twentieth-century designs to highly contemporary architectural and decorative lighting.
8. Davide Groppi
Lighting with an often minimal, almost poetic quality. Particularly strong when the light itself needs to feel visually quiet.
DENMARK
9. GUBI
A mix of historical reissues and contemporary pieces that works especially well when an interior needs character without becoming overly decorative.
